This was one lazy Sunday fashion brunch where the turnout could best be described in one word fabulous!
FUEL for fashion, the multi-designer fashion store at Girgaum, Chowpatty, launched young designer Nishka Lulla’s collection. And the debutante was so excited that she reached the venue much before time to ensure that she was present to welcome all her guests. One of the first to walk in was actor Aftab Shivdasani, who seemed to have jumped out of nowhere, considering his recent absence on the party circuit. Speaking of disappearing acts, well, Esha Deol surfaced back into action too! Bollywood beauties continued to stroll in — Sameera Reddy looking much slimmer, Juhi Chawla, Celina Jaitly, Shriya Saran and Neetu Chandra. Falguni and Sushil Jhaveri, the duo behind FUEL, played warm hosts and were extremely pleased with the turnout.
Recent times have seen low turnouts at fashion launches but FUEL seems to have reversed this trend. Taking off from their last event of designer Vikram Phadnis, who was also present, the store attracted huge crowds this time too.
A string of models — Mridula Chandrashekhar, Bruna Abdullah, Viveka Babajee, Kavita Kheraiyat and Nethra Raghuraman — and a handfull of designers — Nishka’s mother Neeta Lulla and Anita Dongre included —were also there to celebrate with Nishka. Madhoo, Leena Mogre, Parvez and Roshni Damania, Raju and Esther Daswani, Remu and Naaz Zaveri, Vikram Raizada, Viren Shah and DJ Megha Kawale were also there in the packed store… the talk was definitely about positive reviews on Nishka’s collection.
