Ahmedabad , June 10 Tata group&aposs Taj Residency Ummed hotel in the city has been brought under the company&aposs new brand&aposThe Gateway Hotel&aposfrom today.
Gateway Ahmedabad has become the third property in Gujarat including Surat and Vadodara, P K Mahankumar, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of The Gateway Hotels, said in a press conference here.
“We are delighted with the inclusion of Taj Residency Ummed under The gateway Hotel portfolio. We are pleased to have three gateway hotels in Gujarat at Ahmedabad , Vadodara and Surat,”he said.
He added that so far, 31 hotels have become operational in the country under the brand.
” With this addition in Ahmedabad , we now have 31 hotels across India under The Gateway brand and have moved closure to our target of establishing 50 hotels in the near future,”he added.
The Gateway Hotel is a new brand from Tata group which is a pan India network of hotels and resorts, he added.
According to him, Taj group will gradually bring all the Taj Residency hotels under Gateway brand while Hotel Taj will remain a luxurious brand catering to premium segment.
He added that The Gateway brand fits between Taj Hotel, which is a luxury hotel and Ginger, which is a budget hotel brand from the Tata group.
